Senior Architectural Conservation Consultant (London)
Dipl.Ing.Arh, Mr. Arh.
Maida is a Senior Architectural Conservation Consultant, with over 12 years of experience working in the Heritage Sector. She joined Heritage Architecture’s team in 2008, after almost six years working on a large scale master-planning and urban design projects for the conservation and development of historic cities, as well as numerous restoration and conservation projects of individual historic buildings. These were both international, as part of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture & World Monuments Fund Mostar Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and UK based projects.
Maida is based in the London office and her main role is providing specialist advice on pre-applications and planning applications for developments and other proposals that affect historic environment - listed buildings, their setting and the conservation areas. Maida has worked with industrial heritage sites (including Hayle Harbour, a World Heritage Site), dealing with sensitive archaeology and setting issues and has, also, been closely involved in the major redevelopment at the Stables Market Camden, a mixed-use scheme involving five listed buildings and three new ones, in one of the finest remaining conservation area sites in the borough.
Other projects include interventions and alterations to individual listed buildings and buildings in conservation areas, including accompanying assessment of the significance and impact of the proposed developments on the heritage assets required for the listed building consents and the planning permissions. The most recent was involvement in a high-end development of a semi-detached pair of a Grade I listed grand palace-style houses by John Nash within Regents Park Conservation Area, working closely with and supporting the lead architect and the design team on extensive repairs to the historic fabric and reinstatement of historic architectural features.
In her spare time she enjoys baking, which is strongly encouraged by the rest of the team, and spending time with family and friends.
